I Love a Surprise

Was going to make my long run this week a 5 miler only to be surprised yesterday when I looked at my RunKeeper and saw that what was supposed to be a slow 4 miler w/Chanti turned into a 4.8 (which is almost 5) with Chanti and then Debbie, who we ran into. The run was still slow but all in due time...just glad to say I can run 5 miles again :)

The question now - should my long run now be farther than 5???

Run On!

As you progress . . . . yes!! You'll get up to TWO-THREE 20-22 milers in! YAY! You'll love the way you feel after it! :)

I won't repeat my last comment about distance and comfortably running them. But I did want to say that if you ARE using a run/walk method to achieve distances that's great! It's just not my training plan and I usually encourage those I help in their running journey to aim for running. (if there are not physical limitation that require a run/walk plan).
Please don't think I am saying you are doing anything wrong by stopping or walking. Sorry.
As for lenghtening your long run. Of course you new "long" run will be anything over 5 miles now because you did 5 and before you know it you'll be doing 6, then 7 then 8...
